Just watched the “Horizon” episode about infinity. I guess, all in all, the episode was all right.
The issues raised in the actual program were very thought provoking and interesting…but I just found the way it was made to be kind of silly and it seemed to feature a large amount of random shots of just…nothing.
I haven’t watched Horizon recently (so I don’t know if he’s a regular man featured in it) but I found the man, filmed in b&w, who said random crap to be incredibly annoying and he just generally made the program less enjoyable than I thought it would be.
Now for the important content of the program: I thought it was particularly interesting…but just plain silly (and closed-minded!) that one particular mathematician just did not believe in infinity. I’m not even going to pretend that I know what infinity is, but I still accept that it exists. I almost found myself laughing when he said that once you reach a certain number (well beyond anyone’s comprehension) then you just go back to zero…brain does not compute…
